After trying for almost a year to make up a name to fit our lovable logo, I have found that telling the truth seems to work the best....

Dan Straley was raised in rural Michigan, and spent his younger years locked in his basement writing intense poetry and political rants. His friends started calling him Dark Strangely.

Later, Dark formed a band, Dark and the Strangelys. They would only play once a year, performing songs Dark wrote such as "Rock and Roll Martyrs of the Dead", "Never My Swine", and "Bury Me Next To Lorne Green". Over a 30 year period, a small but devoted cult following of approximately 2 fans developed.
In 1993, after the musician Prince changed his name to a symbol and became "the artist formerly known as Prince", Dark Strangely said "I am now the artist formerly known as Dark Strangely", and he started to go by the symbol .

And that is about all there is to it, really........
